OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– The Palestinian committee for the defense of Silwan real estate and lands said that the Israeli municipal council in occupied Jerusalem declared a plan on Tuesday to establish a settlement outpost in the heart of Silwan district.

The committee added that the plan is aimed at building a big settlement outpost in place of the park located in Bir Ayoub area and the area around Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan.

It noted that Israelis from the municipal council on Monday pasted to the walls posters about the intention to establish what they called public buildings in place of the park. This outpost, if built, will be connected with another outpost in Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood forming a big settlement outpost.

The committee warned that this plan will lead to the removal of eight Palestinian residential buildings in Al-Bustan area and threatens the Palestinian presence in the district.

The Israeli posters gave the Palestinian citizens a deadline of 30 days to file objections to the plan, but this period had ended on August 16 2010 when the Israeli municipal approved its project.

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) also earmarked five millions dollars to Judaize the Mosques of Ein Silwan and Burj Annawatir village in occupied Jerusalem, according to the Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage on Tuesday.

In a separate incident, Jerusalemite young men last night threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli military patrol of border guards in Silwan district. The troops responded to the young men and opened fire at them without any reported casualties.
